The Cost Of Solar Energy

Solar power is the energy given to us by the sun. It can be harvested in many ways, but one of the best and probably most efficient, is perhaps our ability to use this solar energy in our own homes. The government has granted many lenient tax exemptions and tariffs on solar energy. Something that makes solar energy more accessible to everyone. Although the overall one time cost to have solar panels installed may be expensive, the amount of money that you will be saving year after year will far exceed the price you originally paid. Not to mention, you will be helping the earth heal by using its own natural resources rather than destroy them.

When you make the decision to have solar panels installed, the initial cost is expensive. Once you have your solar power system installed, you will immediately start to see results. Not only in the quality of power that you will be getting but also the amount of money that you will be saving. Because there has been such an excess of energy being brought in my solar power systems, the Australian government has set forth a tariff that pays you for your excess energy. So, not only are you lessening, if not completely eliminating your electricity bill, but you are also getting paid for it too. For those living in New South Wales or Australian Capitol Territory, you will not only get paid for the energy you don't use but the energy your home is using as well. This is because they run on a Gross Feed-In Tariff instead of a Net Feed-In Tariff. This makes having solar energy all the more enticing.

Not only is the Feed-In Tariff available to anyone that is using solar energy, but the solar panel rebate also allows you to earn extra money as well for your new solar system. This rebate allows solar users to trade renewable energy certificates due to the 2001 Renewable Energy Regulations. This is only available to those with small solar units, but anyone with a solar powered home would qualify as the unit you would use would not be that large. These are just some of the great financial benefits you will receive to help combat the initial cost of having your solar panels installed. Obviously, the biggest benefit would be that you would have little to no electricity bill because you are now drawing your power from the sun, not a man made power source.

A few of the other benefits that you can look forward to is the fact that you won't have to worry about as many power outages when everyone else does. You aren't running on a grid, so when their power goes out, yours wont. Also, your power will be more efficient and stronger, something that others can't say. The best part of it all is that your power won't be hurting the earth either since you are drawing your power source from the sun, a natural ball of energy.
